Numbers, Numbers, Numbers

This week in maths we have been exploring Place Value.  We are using materials to build numbers and to help us see how many groups of 100, 10 or 1 are in a number.

Good Time Music Bus Concert

On Friday Good Time Music Academy came to perform for us.  We had a great time singing and dancing with them.

Calendar Art

We have been working hard on our calendars and we are very proud of the beautiful results.  You can see them in our classroom window for the rest of the week.

Matariki Biscuits

Last Friday we made Matariki Biscuits for an end of term treat.

We made yellow, purple and green icing together and we took turns to spread it on biscuits.  The we added 7 cupcake decorations to represent the 7 stars of Matariki.

What a fun and yummy way to celebrate the end of our Matariki learning and the end of term!

Hot Chocolate Friday

We have been working hard this week in Room 14 and we earned a special treat on our chart.  We got to make hot chocolate.

We explained how to make it so Mrs Mawby could write the recipe.  Then we got to make our own

Next week we are going to write our own recipe for hot chocolate.

Basketball

Today was our first Kiwi Hoops Basketball session.  We had fun practising our dribbling and shooting skills.  We are looking forward to the rest of the sessions.

Our Worm Farm

The worms for our worm farm arrived last week.  We spent the afternoon getting their new home ready.  We all got to hold some worms and look closely at them.

 

We’ve put the worms into their new home.  Now they are ready turn our food scraps into compost.
